North Gwinnett Tag Office Closed Saturday, February 18

The Georgia Department of Revenue will be performing computer maintenance on its vehicle registration computer system from 7:00pm Friday, February 17 through 6:00am Monday, February 20.

During this period, the state registration system will not be available. Due to the maintenance, the North Gwinnett tag office will be closed on Saturday, February 18.

Customers will not be able to renew their tags online or on the state tag renewal telephone line during this period.

Customers are encouraged to complete all tag and title transactions before or after the state’s maintenance dates.

Forms of Identification no Longer Accepted

Effective July 1, 2011, in accordance with Georgia House Bill 87, the following forms of identification are no longer accepted as valid forms of identification:

  • Consular card
  • Matricula consular card
  • Consular matriculation card
  • Consular identification card
  • Electoral card or similar identification card issued by a foreign government
  • Out of country driver's license or identification card

ZIP Code Changes

The U.S. Postal Service has changed zip codes in some areas of Gwinnett County.  If your zip code has changed within the last year, please contact us as soon as possible to update it at Tag@GwinnettCounty.com or 770-822-8818.

Out-of-Area Emission Waivers

Effective January 1, 2011, the Georgia Clean Air Force will process all out-of-area emission waivers for Gwinnett County residents. Due to new Clean Air Force requirements, Gwinnett County tag offices will no longer process out-of-area emission waivers. For an application and other information, visit the Georgia Clean Air Force website or call 800-449-2471.
