Following are the requirements for registering vehicles purchased for fleet
New Vehicle Purchase
- Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) (copies not accepted)
- A completed MV-1 Title Application
- Complete truck section of the MV-1 Title Application for trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 14,000 lbs (if required)
- Current insurance card showing "GEORGIA FLEET" pre-printed on the card
- Copy of the bill of sale
- An original completed Form T-19C (Affidavit of Authority to Sign for a Company, Corporation or Partnership)
Used Vehicle Purchase
- Title (copies not accepted)
- A completed MV-1 Title Application
- Complete truck section of the MV-1 Title Application for trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 14,000 lbs (if required)
- Current insurance card showing ""GEORGIA FLEET" pre-printed on the card
- Copy of the bill of sale
- An emissions certificate (if required)
- An original completed Form T-19C (Affidavit of Authority to Sign for a Company, Corporation or Partnership)
Renewals
- Renewal notice
- Indicate change of address (if applicable)
- Complete truck section on back of renewal notice for vehicles over 8,500 lbs (if required)
- Current insurance card showing "GEORGIA FLEET" pre-printed on the card
- An emissions certificate (if required)
- An original completed Form T-19C (Affidavit of Authority to Sign for a Company, Corporation or Partnership)
Taxes Only - IRP Vehicles
- Renewal notice
- Completed IRP mileage Schedule B - Form T-139 (for apportioned vehicles owned greater than one year)
- An original completed Form T-19C (Affidavit of Authority to Sign for a Company, Corporation or Partnership)
2290 IRS Heavy Road Use
Tax Form is required for
- Vehicles weighing 55,000 lbs or more
- Newly purchased vehicle weighing 55,000 lbs or more & registered after 60 days from date of sale
2290 IRS Heavy Road Use
Tax Form is not required for
- Vehicles weighing less than 55,000 lbs
- Newly purchased vehicle weighing 55,000 lbs or more and registered within 60 days of the date of sale (copy of front and back of Title/Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin required.). A 2290 is not required at time of initial registration.
